My short art career has been centered around black and white film photography and the silver printing process. Through this medium I have explored both the social and spiritual aspects of the relations, roles, and attributes associated with gender. My aesthetic is heavily dependent upon the process. I rely on long exposure times and carefully designed lighting conditions. The model sits for half the exposure and then leaves the frame for the remaining duration of the exposure. The light reflecting from the background is then recorded over the image of the model on the film resulting in haunting, ghost-like figures. |
