Julia Scher (MFA 1984), University of Minnesota, Studio Arts Department is a 2005 Guggenheim Fellowship recipient.

Drew Peterson (BFA ‘09) exhibited work he created during his artist residency at the Anderson Ranch in Snow Mass, Colorado. The exhibition was at The XYandZ Gallery, Minneapolis, last spring.

Fawzia Khan (BFA’ 05) presented new sculpture in “Birdbrains II” at the Hopkins Center for the Arts in May and June.

Lindsay Montgomery (MFA ‘10) is now teaching ceramics at Hoe College, Holland, Michigan.

David Bowen (MFA ‘04) has received tenure at UM Duluth. His latest work “fly blimps” will be featured in art.tech at The Lab in San Francisco, a festival focusing on the intersection of art and technology.

Travis Freeman (MFA ‘09) is now working at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Michigan.

Mike Rathbun (MFA ‘95) has been teaching at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon since 2005. Last March, his large wood sculpture and installation was on view in the Schneider Museum of Art, Southern Oregon University.

Liz Miller (MFA ‘05), Scott Stulen (MFA ‘04), Anthony Marchetti (MFA ‘05), Cris Deo (MFA ‘05), David Bowen (MFA ‘04), Nicholas Conbere (MFA ‘07), Eric Carroll (MFA ‘06), Beth Jeffries Barnes (MFA ‘07) are some of the artists featured in “Vertical Currency” at the Rochester Art Center through January 2011.

Katinka Galanos (MFA ‘09) and Miles Mendenhall (BFA studies) were 2009 recipients of the Jerome Emerging Printmakers’ Residency. Their new prints, created during the residency, were featured in an exhibit this past summer at the Highpoint Center for Printmaking.

Sonja Peterson (MFA ‘09) had a solo show at the Burnet Art Gallery in Le Meridian Chambers, Minneapolis, from May to July 2010.

Matthew Bakkom (MFA ‘07) was one of four artists to receive the 2010-11 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Visual Artists. The McKnight Fellowship program is recognized as one of the most prestigious foundation-based grant opportunities for visual artists in the Twin Cities.

Ruthann Godollei (MFA ‘83) co-authored the newly released book Road Show, Art Cars, and the Museum of the Streets with U of MN alumnus Eric Dregni. Her prints were also shown in “Unconventional Wisdom” in the MAEP Gallery at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Rachel Breen (MFA ‘06) presented “Seven Meals”, an installation of drawing and sewn paper at Conduit Gallery, Minneapolis, last February and March.

Karoline Wileczek (MFA ‘06) exhibited work in “Mama Cita-5” last April at the Wilmington Arts Commission, Delaware.

Tamara Brantmeier (MFA ‘00) has received tenure and promotion at University of Wisconsin-Stout. She has exhibited actively and received a Professional Development Grant as well as Title 3 funding to support her ongoing research interest in the assessment of the arts.

Caroline Kent (MFA ‘08) and Andrew Mazorol (BA ‘06) both received Jerome Fellowships for Emerging Artists for 2009-10. The Jerome Fellowship Program is administered by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Jeannine Kitzhaber (MFA ‘00) is teaching at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Last February, she organized the “Duct Tape Wearable Art” exhibit in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Center.

Rochelle Woldorsky (MFA ‘93) received a State Arts Board Initiative Grant this and will show photographs at the Shoebox Gallery, opening December 15th.

Ann Brakob, Norma Hanlon (MFA ‘90), Brenda Litman (MFA ‘92), Odessa (MFA ‘92), Patti Peterson (MFA ‘91), Joan Porter-Einsman (MFA ‘87), and Ilsa Siebenschuh (MFA ‘91) had a group exhibition titled With the Touch of the Hand, in the Gailon Roen Room, Boynton Health Service, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, June and August.

Stephanie Thompson (BFA ‘08) has exhibited at LIGHT Art + Design, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Kelsey Bosch (BFA ‘09) was a 2010 recipient of a Planning and Development Grant from Forecast for Public Art.
